My story starts before I even received the envelope with the gift inside. I am in Edge of Grace and most of the time I have to be out of the auditorium before they pass the collection plates and they were passing out the envelopes during this time and I figured that I would not receive one just for that fact, which I was okay with, because as long as the money gets to where it is best needed, I am all for it. As it turns out, Shawn L. from the Gracepoint Crew found me and told me that he was going to get me an envelope, which was just another sign of how gracious and thoughtful the people of Gracepoint are. With that being said, My envelope contained $20 and I knew that I had to find just the right person for it. Well, it has been a few weeks now and just today I found the person. There is a lady at work whose mom has been having medical problems related to the heart and as I passed her today she told me that her mom was going back in the hospital today and that she was leaving early to be with her. Her mom was having another Heart Cath this morning and you could see in this lady's eyes that she was very nervous about the whole thing. I asked her what time she was leaving for the hospital and told her that I had something for her. As she left the building to go to her car I followed her and got my gift from Gracepoint and walked over to her and told her that MY church gave out money to be given as an act of kindness and that I wanted her to have it buy her lunch at the hospital or something to read. The look on her face was fantastic. I think that in the back of her mind she felt relief that not only did a coworker cared about her situation, but confirmed her belief that Jesus was there and taking care of her. Thanx Grace point as it is FAR better to give than Receive.
