4. Important step of obedience to Scripture

In the Bible, as people came to faith in Christ they were baptized. That sequence of events is the same throughout the scriptures: first people profess faith in Jesus Christ, then they are baptized. It is called a believer’s baptism, a baptism that happens after a belief in Jesus Christ.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I commanded you.” - Matthew 28:19-20

“We know that we have come to know Him, if we obey His commands.” - 1 John 2:3
